There's a moment every passionate home brewer knows — the moment when your friends keep asking for more, your batches run out too fast, and you realize: this needs to become something bigger.
That moment came for one of our customers in Estonia. And when it did, he found us.
It was early 2025 when we first received an inquiry from a craft beer enthusiast based in Estonia. He had been brewing on a 50L home brewing system for several years — refining his recipes, experimenting with hop profiles, and building a small but loyal following among friends and local beer lovers.
But 50 liters simply wasn't enough anymore.
He had a clear vision: set up a small commercial craft brewery, produce consistently, and eventually grow into a full-scale operation. What he needed was a reliable equipment partner who could take him from concept to brew day — without cutting corners on quality.
That's when he reached out to Jinan Cassman Machinery Co., Ltd.
From the very first conversation, we didn't just talk about equipment specs. We listened.
He told us:
His current 50L system was limiting his output and consistency
He wanted electric heating — clean, controllable, and practical for his facility
He needed a system that could grow with him, not lock him into a fixed capacity
Budget mattered, but so did build quality, certifications, and after-sales support
He was concerned about the complexity of CIP cleaning and temperature control for fermentation
These weren't just technical requirements. They were the real-world concerns of someone investing serious money into a business dream. We took every point seriously.
After several rounds of communication — reviewing his floor plan, discussing his recipes, and aligning on his production goals — we designed and delivered a fully customized 200L commercial brewing system, including:
The heart of the system. We configured a two-vessel brewhouse combining the mash/lauter tun and kettle/whirlpool into a compact, efficient layout — ideal for a small commercial operation where space and workflow efficiency matter.
Electric heating elements with precise PID temperature control
Stainless steel 304 construction throughout
Sanitary tri-clamp fittings for easy disassembly and cleaning
Insulated vessels to minimize heat loss and energy consumption
Built-in whirlpool port for clear wort separation
Two dedicated fermenters allow him to run staggered batches — while one batch is fermenting, he can brew the next. This doubles effective output without doubling the brewhouse footprint.
Conical bottom design for efficient yeast harvesting and trub removal
Pressure-rated for closed fermentation and natural carbonation
Glycol cooling jacket integrated for precise temperature management
Sample valve, pressure relief valve, and carbonation stone included
Fermentation temperature control is non-negotiable for beer quality. We supplied a matched glycol refrigeration unit sized specifically for two 200L fermenters, ensuring stable fermentation temperatures across all seasons — including Estonia's warm summers.
One of his biggest concerns was cleaning. A CIP system automates the cleaning cycle for tanks and pipework, reducing manual labor and ensuring food-grade hygiene standards are consistently met. Our CIP setup includes:
Dedicated CIP tank with heating
Pump and spray ball system for full vessel coverage
Compatible with both caustic and acid cleaning cycles
This wasn't an off-the-shelf order. Every component was reviewed, adjusted, and confirmed with the customer before production began.
A few specifics that reflect our customization approach:
Voltage and electrical standards were adapted for European specifications (CE-compliant)
Control panel language and labeling were set up for easy operation
Packaging was reinforced with export-grade wooden crating and foam protection for the long sea freight journey from Jinan to Estonia
Pre-shipment quality inspection was conducted in our factory, with photos and video documentation shared with the customer before dispatch
All equipment carries CE and ISO certifications, meeting EU import and food safety requirements
When we talk about what Cassman delivers, it's never just metal and motors. Here's what this Estonian customer actually received:
Value Area | What We Delivered |
Product Quality | Food-grade SS304, TIG-welded, mirror-polished interiors |
Custom Design | Layout adapted to his space and workflow |
Export Packaging | Reinforced wooden crates, moisture protection |
Quality Inspection | Full factory QC with documented evidence |
Certifications | CE & ISO certified — EU market ready |
Competitive Pricing | Direct manufacturer pricing, no middlemen |
The system arrived safely, was installed, and our customer brewed his first commercial batch on the new 200L system. The feedback was exactly what we hoped to hear: consistent mash temperatures, clean wort, and a fermentation profile that matched his recipes from day one.
But perhaps more telling than the first brew is what he said afterward:
"I'm already thinking about adding more fermenters. And when the time comes to scale up again, I know who I'm calling."
That's the outcome we work toward with every project.
If you're a home brewer — or a small craft brewery operator — considering your next step, this case offers a few important takeaways:
1. Scaling doesn't have to be overwhelming.
With the right partner, moving from 50L to 200L (or beyond) is a structured, manageable process. You don't need to figure it all out alone.
2. Electric heating is a smart choice for small commercial breweries.
It's precise, clean, easy to install, and doesn't require gas infrastructure — a practical advantage in many European markets.
3. Future-proofing matters from day one.
Our customer's system was designed with expansion in mind. Adding fermenters or upgrading the brewhouse later is straightforward because the infrastructure is already in place.
4. Certifications aren't optional — they're your entry ticket.
For any brewer selling commercially in the EU, CE-certified equipment isn't a bonus. It's a requirement. Make sure your supplier can deliver it.
5. The relationship matters as much as the equipment.
A brewery system is a long-term investment. You want a manufacturer who answers questions, solves problems, and stands behind their product — not one who disappears after the wire transfer clears.
