CO2 Recovery System
CASSMAN
Every fermentation cycle releases a significant amount of high-purity CO2. Our state-of-the-art CO2 Recovery System is engineered to capture this valuable resource, purify it to beverage-grade standards, and make it available for reuse. This isn't just an equipment upgrade; it's a strategic investment in quality control, cost reduction, and sustainable brewing practices.
Our system uses a sophisticated, multi-stage process to ensure the final product is free from impurities, organic compounds, and unwanted gases.
Initial Cleansing: Raw gas from your fermenters first enters a Foam Trap to remove any entrained foam, followed by a Washing Tower. Using advanced packing media and specialized nozzles, this tower scrubs the gas with water to eliminate the vast majority of water-soluble organic impurities and odors.
Three-Stage Compression: The washed gas is buffered in a gas balloon and then fed into a dedicated, three-stage CO2 Compressor, raising the pressure to 1.5-1.8 MPa in preparation for drying and liquefaction.
Advanced Two-Step Drying:
A Refrigerant Dryer first chills the gas to 2-4°C, removing a significant amount of moisture.
The gas then passes through an Activated Carbon Filter for further removal of organic traces before entering the PLC-controlled Desiccant Dryers for deep drying, achieving an atmospheric dew point of ≤ -60°C. This ultra-low moisture level is critical for preventing ice formation and ensuring system integrity.
The core of the purification process occurs during liquefaction.
The clean, dry, pressurized CO2 gas enters a CO2 Evaporating Condenser, where it is chilled to -18°C by a dedicated refrigeration unit.
At this low temperature, the CO2 liquefies. Critically, non-condensable gases like oxygen and nitrogen (O₂ & N₂)—which are detrimental to beer quality—remain in their gaseous state and are automatically vented off. This step significantly boosts the final CO2 purity to ≥99.95%.
Insulated Storage: The liquefied CO2 is transferred to a 5m³ cryogenic storage tank, insulated with high-efficiency polyurethane to maintain its -20°C temperature and pressure. The tank is equipped with automated safety relief systems and a clear liquid level display for reliable and safe operation.
Ready for Use: When you need CO2 for carbonation, packaging, or purging, our automated, water-bath CO2 Vaporizer provides a stable and reliable supply of gaseous CO2. Its capacity is designed to exceed the recovery rate, ensuring you have plenty of CO2 available even during peak demand.
Automated & Safe: The entire system features a comprehensive control panel with displays for all key operational parameters. The compressor and refrigeration units have independent control and fault-shutdown systems for maximum safety and reliability.
Optional High-Purity System: For breweries with the most stringent quality demands or those looking to sell CO2, an optional CO2 Polishing System can be added to achieve even higher levels of purity.
